Terms of Use
Last updated October 1, 2026
These terms cover buying and using Shotie, the Mac app for making App Store and Google Play screenshots, made by Clownio. By buying or using Shotie, you agree to them.
Your license
When you buy Shotie you get a personal, non-transferable license to use it on up to three Macs at a time. You can move it between Macs by deactivating one in Shotie’s Settings.
- Yearly: renews automatically each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from “Manage Subscription” in Shotie’s Settings; the app keeps working until the end of the year you’ve paid for.
- Lifetime: a single payment for Shotie, including its future updates, for as long as we offer the app.
Payment, taxes and refunds
Purchases are sold and processed by Stripe through Stripe Managed Payments, which handles payment, taxes and receipts, and whose terms apply to the transaction. Prices are shown before you pay and may include or add sales tax or VAT depending on where you live.
If Shotie isn’t right for you, contact us within 14 days of buying and we’ll arrange a refund. A refunded license stops working. This doesn’t limit any rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
What you need
Shotie needs a Mac running macOS 26 or later and an internet connection now and then to check your license. The AI features need an AI coding tool — Claude Code, Codex CLI or Gemini CLI — that you install and pay for separately, under that provider’s own terms. We don’t control those services and aren’t responsible for their availability, cost or results.
Your content
Everything you make with Shotie is yours. You’re responsible for having the right to use the material you put into it — your app’s screens, names, icons, images and text — and for making sure the screenshots you publish follow the App Store and Google Play guidelines.
AI-generated screens and copy can contain mistakes. Check them before you publish.
Fair use
If you break these terms we may deactivate your license.
- Don’t share, resell or publish your license key.
- Don’t try to bypass or tamper with the license check.
- Don’t copy, modify, or reverse engineer Shotie, except where the law allows it.
Updates
We improve Shotie over time and may change, add or remove features. An active license includes the updates we release.
Warranty and liability
Shotie is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it reliable, but we can’t promise it will be error-free or always available.
To the extent the law allows, Clownio isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, data or business, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Shotie in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with its date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll point it out here before it takes effect.
